2016 Bluebird Red Blend
Versatile, jammy, flavorful, fruit-forward wine blended from the synergies of a non-traditional new world blend of varietals.
42% Syrah, 28% Cabernet Franc, 30% Petite Sirah
When I started in the wine industry in the early 1990’s I participated in a Bluebird conservation project for which we built, installed & monitored bluebird nest boxes. I grew to love the occasional sightings of these birds but their population was declining due to loss of habitat. Fortunately when vineyards are sustainably managed they can support healthy Bluebird populations & can even benefit from these bug eaters. Lately I’ve enjoyed viewing large flocks in vineyards in the warmer reaches of Monterey County -- a heartening sight! This wine is a blend made from those special, inspiring places: 42% Syrah, 28% Cabernet Franc, 30% Petite Sirah.
