2017 Tre Gatti Grenache Blanc
This grape produces a rich but nicely balanced wine. Pears, apples & spice flavors and aromas mingle with minerality and all made crisp by a lovely acidity. Serve chilled.

Cima Collina’s (and Annette’s) first Grenache Blanc ever! In the winery we pressed the whole clusters, chilled the juice then fermented it slowly in stainless steel barrels. After fermentation the lees were stirred weekly then the wine was racked into old oak barrels and puncheons. We really like the subtle uplift of aromas that the oak barrels add to this wine.
This fragrant, dry white wine is sourced from a small vineyard planted on a perfectly situated hillside vineyard in the southern reaches of Monterey County, not far from the town of Lockwood. Tre Gatti is owned and cared-for by Paul and Paula Getzelman who farm the property themselves. The care and pride in the vineyard shows. Head-trained vines are planted in soil that any Rhône aficionado would appreciate – calcareous, well-drained, rocky soil on a southerly slope. Grenache Blanc is a varietal that is genetically related to Grenache Noir but is its own, white varietal. It originated in Spain but has flourished throughout the Rhône in France. Tablas Creek Winery in Paso Robles imported the cuttings of this varietal in 1992 and plantings of it have increased ever since and mostly on the Central Coast.
